In the hollow of the valley, between the giants of stone and the forests of altitude, our house opens its doors to you like a parenthesis in the rhythm of everyday life.

Here, the mountains don't dominate: they keep watch. They surround, protect and invite you to slow down. You feel sheltered from the world, carried away by the pure air and meaningful silences.

Whether you're looking for adventure, peace and quiet or simply a sunrise to savour without haste, you've come to the right place. Here you'll find a welcome that tastes of warm bread, the scent of wood and the simple warmth of the real thing.

Welcome to the valley, where the world stops... And where life begins differently.

This place has always been a family affair.

First, a grocery shop, then a bar with the legendary POLLET family's petrol pump.

Then, on 1 August 1986, young Robert Flamnier from Maurienne settled in Ugine with his wife Jacqueline. They fell in love with this building, formerly the traders« bar, which would become the Bar des Amis, also known as »Chez Robert," which we all know in Ugine. An institution where several generations crossed paths and experienced moments of intense sharing. An institution in which a family grew up and evolved: the Flamnier family, but above all, the Hôtel du Bourg family.

It will be on 6th July 1990 that the hotel sees the light of day. On the eve of the Albertville Olympic Games, Jacqueline feels that now is the time to make itself known and to be present for the arrival of this global event. She will say:

«Robert! It's time, we need to do some work and expand the hotel. The Olympics are here and this is our moment to make our hotel known.»

Flammier Square will be inaugurated on June 27th, 1995. The bar will also be given a new lease of life on July 13th, 1998. After these major changes, they welcomed new clients, took care of their loyal customers, organised many parties, won floral competitions, but also started their own family and raised their children. This is also what the Hôtel du Bourg family is all about. People who gave everything to make this building an inspiring, relaxing, yet also invigorating and welcoming place to live.

For more than 30 years, they have devoted themselves to giving pleasure, and we thank them warmly for that!

Taking over the Flambeau

Generations come and go, and today it's our turn: a family from Ugine taking the reins and hoping to keep this institution going for many years to come.

We will ensure that the values present within the very walls of this hotel are perpetuated so that your stay is a unique and immersive experience in the beautiful Savoyard family to which this establishment belongs.
